''ONGOING''
„GAST“ is a project that examines the history of migration from Cepni, Turkey, to Wuppertal, Germany, focusing on how these movements shaped the Turkish migrant community over generations. Through five „conditions,“ it traces the initial migration, the establishment of a cultural association, the generational changes within the community, and the current state of disconnection felt by younger members. The project also looks ahead, considering the potential revitalization of this space for future generations.

The publication was produced as a collection folder from the association’s existing materials and leftover paper.
For my graduation project at the Sommerrundgang at the Düsseldorf Kunstakademie, I presented an exhibition titled "GAST". The exhibition structure was constructed using leftover aluminum profiles originally used by my father in his factory. The modular design served as the framework for displaying the project, which incorporated archival materials, images, and texts. The focus of the project was to explore the history and impact of migration from Çepni, Turkey, to Wuppertal, Germany, with an emphasis on generational changes and cultural continuity.
During the exhibition week, conversations with visitors took place to discuss the project and its themes, providing an opportunity for exchange.
